Oakworth Capital Bank HQ + Retail Branch

An interior environment that expresses the Bank’s shared core values

When Oakworth Capital Bank purchased the 45,000sf Shades Cahaba building to house their new corporate headquarters and retail branch, they turned to KPS – the building’s original architects – for help in reconfiguring two of the building’s three floors to reflect their unique approach to banking and wealth management. The design team worked closely with Oakworth Capital to define the vision and branding for their new offices, developing multiple concept images for the 28,000sf space to solicit feedback on company image and design. The exterior was refreshed to reflect company branding and an outdoor patio for employees added to the rear of the building. Multiple test fit options were developed for the corporate office spaces. The interior design reflects a residential aesthetic in an open, spacious plan that offers a comfortable environment for customers and staff. A feeling of openness and transparency was created with expansive glazed walls featuring custom graphics that communicate the company’s shared core values. Photorealistic color renderings allowed the client to visualize the design scheme and evaluate alternatives.
