Research Addition at the Lakeshore Foundation
Focus on technologies to help people with disabilities
Growing out of a campus master plan developed by KPS in 2016, this 17,000sf addition to the Lakeshore Foundation’s main building enhances its core mission, to be a destination for recreation and rehabilitation for people with disabilities, to also be at the forefront of technologies that enhance their quality of life. The new facility incorporates a large multimedia instructional space, telehealth suites for consultation with home-bound individuals, an instructional kitchen / culinary lab, an innovation lab, exercise and mindfulness studios, and a video production lab in addition to new office space for research partners with related café and board room. The addition has an open, industrial feel with exposed ceilings and expansive glazed walls that bring natural light into every room and offer views of the Foundation’s lush, wooded campus and planned outdoor enhancements.
