US SPACE & ROCKET CENTER NEW SKILLS TRAINING FACILITY

A flexible, technology-rich training facility introduces young adults to the challenge and excitement of aviation and space exploration

The New Skills Training Facility at the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville gives Space Camp participants a place to test themselves against the physical and mental demands of modern aeronautics. The building houses a wide range of specialized environments, including parachute training, drone operations, and night-vision simulation, alongside immersive space program experiences such as Mission Control, astronaut simulation, and reduced-gravity exercises. Large, flexible spaces form the backbone of the design, allowing the facility to absorb new technology and programming as exploration science continues to evolve. While advanced technology is integrated throughout the space to support hands-on learning, the guiding vision was an inspiring, memorable Space Camp experience for every camper.
